My Platform as a Trustee Candidate

My platform for my trustee candidacy is as follows:

  1. Advocacy for a public education system that is adequately and responsibly funded to meet the many and varied needs of children.
  2. Serving as a voice for children, families and community at the Board table.
  3. Supporting Board decisions that provide all children with every chance for success, including serving children with unique needs and vulnerabilities as well as those who pursue excellence.
  4. Engaging First Nations and ensuring a culturally responsive education for children and families of Indigenous ancestry.
  5. Ensuring that our staff have the supports and resources they need to do their jobs effectively throughout the system.
  6. Ensuring effective planning and budgeting processes with involvement of staff, parents, students, partners and the broader community.
